At www.newsmonster.org, we are continuing to develop an online RSS News Aggregator that is customizable and scalable, offering the latest news from many syndicated sources in a mobile or desktop format that is easily digestible.
We had found that getting exactly the news we need when we needed it could be a real bear, so we decided to make a news engine of sorts. While we tested the software, we found even more information overload could result if users weren’t given the choices to route information important to them. Hence, we continue to develop NewsMonster to as an RSS News Aggregator. As a web or desktop application, NewsMonster simply finds relevant information and groups it, then extracts the data that is most important to decision making. Finally, that information can be sorted, or “routed” depending on user’s interests or priorities, into a web page of their own, email, or SMS messages.

An RSS feed is a data stream from published by a website or service that updates subscribers whenever new information is available. While the data in an RSS feed is usually a snippet of the totality of an article, by following a link a user can retrieve the full content of the published article.
